Rated 5 out of 5 by ShoeGal1980 Perfect slouchy sweater but runs large!
Just picked up this sweater in a second color (got it last year in navy, now have it in black as well). The fit is slouchy and very comfortable, but please be aware that it runs quite large. I am a true medium in J.Crew sweaters (5'6", 130 lbs) and bought this sweater in an XS to achieve that semi fitted yet still casually draped look. The small and medium looked so shapeless and unflattering so I was glad to be able to try this on in-store to get the XS (because I never would have thought to buy that size right off the bat!). Love the longer hemline and roomy fit - but make sure to size down a size or two!

I am really excited about this sweater. It hints at that sort of early 1990's baggy sweater look, yet the slim sleeves make it wearable and more current. I cannot know for certain how I will feel in the future, but I anticipate wearing and loving this sweater for many years to come. Though the sweater is slightly oversized, I like how it looks with a variety of pants on beyond skinny jeans. I cannot at this time speak to the washability or long-term wear. And as I rarely indulge in fibers such as cashmere, I do not know if this is "good" cashmere. But I am very happy so far. IS IT FALL YET!?

This sweater is thicker and softer than many jcrew cashmeres; its really the quality of a much more expensive sweater. I have it in navy and black and it is a go-to staple: with nice sweats for a quick market run or kid dropoff, with skinny black jeans for a casual get together. Fits boxy but the cropped sleeves keep it from feeling sloppy.

I purchased this in both the black and the rust color. The fit is loose - dolman sleeved. The knit is not the fine cashmere weave. It is a chunkier, looser weave and that is why I love these so much. Soooooooo soft. I will wear it with skinny jeans. I'm short and curvy. This is perfect on me. I wanted it to cover my backside and not cling. It is perfect. I will wear it alone and also with a collared shirt underneath. As a matter of fact, I purchased two of Jcrew's silk sleeveless blouses with collars (in cream and black) and plan to wear them underneath these sweaters. That way, I get the look of the collar without the added bulk and warmth of a long sleeved shirt. I live in South Florida and don't need the additional warmth. I'm also going to wear them with the Macalister desert boots. I can't rave enough about these sweaters. They're gorgeous and the fit is perfect. I had to return the first one I ordered because it was too big, so I recommend sizing down one size.

I will probably live in this sweater around the house on weekends this winter because it is really soft and warm and the 3/4 sleeves are practical. That said, the fit is odd--the sleeves are really skinny but the torso fits like a sack and is not sleek or flattering at all (looks like you are trying to hide your lunch--or an early pregnancy!). It may be better for taller or bigger women (I am very petite, 5'4" and a size 0 in jcrew). If this were a couple of inches slimmer in the torso, it would be perfect.
