Crisp poplin mini skirt
September 9, 2023I followed the advice to size up. I usually wear a 6 or 6P in JCrew slacks. My other skirts from JCrew are relaxed drawstring styles, so I relied on comparison with slacks and shorts to determine my size. I was worried that the slim silhouette and 100% cotton fabric would be pretty unforgiving in terms of the fit at the hips; a size 8 fit nicely, although I might have squeezed into a 6. The fabric is beautiful Thomas Mason poplin, and the lavender color in the stripes is a good match for the “faded violet” color of the JCrew x Marie Marot shirt from the previous collection. The skirt is fully lined and well finished.

Cute but small-ish
August 12, 2023After reading reviews, I had trouble deciding on what size to order -- I'm 5'4" 125lbs (straight body type) and typically a 2/4 in J.Crew bottoms. I ended up ordering a 4 and a 6. The 4 fits just slightly snugly on the waist and looks more flattering, while the 6 is just slightly loose and looks more relaxed. I'm probably going to keep both, reserving the former for occasions where I don't really expect to eat lol but if you prefer a slimmer fit, I'd recommend ordering your usual size or going up just 1 size; if you like a relaxed fit, maybe try 1-2 sizes up. Apart from sizing, the fabric feels adequately thick (not see-through) and high-quality, but I'm not sure it warrants the price tag. I'm glad I waited for it to go on sale before pulling the trigger, but overall a cute skirt perfect for summer.

Interesting
August 12, 2023Complete honesty here, I waited for this skirt to be slightly reduced in price, when it was, I ordered it, after looking at it all summer. The two reviews I read said it was running very small; that you should order up at least two sizes which is what I did. I normally take a 12/14 and I ordered an 18. Receive the skirt and just by looking at it could tell it was huge definitely could’ve taken a 14. Probably a 12. So ladies order your normal size Also, I was afraid it would be very short; it’s not and I’m 5’8. Material is nice but my problem is it was a final sale and I’m stuck with a skirt that doesn’t fit ☹️

Stunning But Very Small
June 19, 2023It’s important to keep in mind that this is a French designer and the clothes definitely run small or a European fit. Typically I’m a 6-8 in Jcrew dresses and skirts. I had to get a size 12 for the skirt and a size 8 for the top. Unless you have a very slim body type you will need to go up in size. Apart from the sizes the set is stunning and looks very cute for a summer party.

Absolutely love
June 10, 2023I purchased both colors and sets. The skirt is absolutely perfect. Fit, length, construction, fabric—it’s all fabulous. I’ve been struggling a bit with sizing lately as it’s all over the board. I’ve had to go down in shorts and up in skirts. What I have also noticed is collection pieces as well as collaborations as a general rule run a bit smaller due to the simple fact the fabric is more expensive. I have always been 00 in JCrew skirts. In the sequin skirt I was a 2. I looked at this and just made a guess based on the items I’ve ordered recently so I did a size 0 which is a good fit. I could probably size up to a 2 for a bit more room but it won’t sit on the waist as designed so I think I’ll stick with the 0. I truly can’t believe this entire collection isn’t sold out—it’s beautiful but of course not everyone is into midriff baring sets. These skirts would be great with simple tanks. I also bought the matching button downs. Overall five stars. I wish it was all this good.
