Surf hipster bikini bottom in tiny gingham

I was disappointed to return these bottoms because I absolutely loved the top I got to go with them. The fit was extremely awkward. They were wide for my hips yet barely covered my back side. I can’t imagine them staying on in the water. I have another pair in this style that are more manageable but this surf hipster cut is awful. I used to only wear J Crew swim but I can’t anymore with the bottoms being way too skimpy. The high waisted style doesn’t work with my body type. I wish J Crew would bring back plain old bikini bottoms!

I'm 5"4', 135, and more pear shaped, so I went with the mediums. I'd say they are true to size, but that size is tiny! The front is okay, although fairly low, but the back is teensy. I don't even mind how much cheek is showing, but unfortunately they are so low-cut that it doesn't cover your (there's no delicate way to put this) butt crack. Standing still, maybe, but moving around, no way. I said this in another review, but I really wish J.Crew went back to making a standard bikini bottom. They used to make really great ones that had the perfect amount of coverage, but now the only choices are these tiny hipster briefs or the huge high-waisted bottoms. There needs to be something in between.
