Cotton cable-knit pointelle sweater

I was so excited to get this sweater. What a huge disappointment! The sweater is a slinky type material that doesn’t hold its shape at all - it just kind of hangs off your body with no structure to it. I was hoping for a good cotton cable knit sweater (instead of wool), but this fabric is awful. I would return it immediately, however it was final sale. If I had been to a JCrew and was able to try the sweater on or even feel the fabric, I would never have purchased it!

I was disappointed that the neckline of this sweater is much more of a boat neck than is represented in the photos, so it shows my bra straps which I really really do not like. The cotton / poly yarn is also not super soft.

The design of the sweater is great, the fit is great, but the yarn is not suitable for this product. It is way too stretchy for the weight of the yarn and for the cable knitted stitches. Straight cotton yarn would have made the sweater a much more successful product.

This sweater is really loose fitting and stretchy. I recommend going down 1-2 sizes. It runs short and honestly wasn’t that flattering. I wished it was a longer length like on the model. It was a nice color but I ended up returning.
