Creative Spirit SeriesCassi Namoda
X J.Crew
Our design team was honored to collaborate with the
Mozambique-born, New York–based artist on this very unique,
limited-edition capsule, inspired by Cassi’s art, life and style. To
celebrate this special collection and help support women artists,
we are donating $100,000 to the National Museum of Women in
the Arts in Washington, DC.

Discover the collab, brought to life by Cassi’s own creative
community and photographed by her friend Rahim Fortune at
NYC’s Museum of Art and Origins.

The whole collection is really just a moment of friends, family and important spaces that I feel are markers to my home of New York.

I approached this
in the way of storytelling
to some extent.
The ruminating, the consideration, the color
as an embodiment
of what it is you’re
trying to portray. It
all felt very natural.

My Little Is Enough for Those in Love show opened at Pippy
Houldsworth Gallery in London in 2020. Those colors were very
vibrant, there was a lot of movement in the work, and the core pillar
of that show was this minimalism and emotion when it came to living.
I thought, ‘How can that love exude throughout the collection?’

I’m a firm believer that an apron—even if you don’t work on any
craft—is a superchic statement. I think an apron over anything
is quite elegant.

We thought a lot about the
ease,
grace and elegance
that shows up in
wearing a
set. But I think the most
exciting part of the
collection is that
you can
mix it all up.

I think what keeps life interesting is novelty—your
approach to freshness and newness. This collection is a
fresh birth. It feels very free, and that’s what I’m trying
to embrace in my life.
