Fairly Close to the Real Thing
May 1, 2026True batik involves a complex wax-based dying process that really, nobody's really interested in. True batik fabric is most commonly made from 100% cotton, as are these shorts. Real batik should feel soft, supple, and breathable, in a lightweight fabric with the feel of of madras. This isn't it, but the color and design is good, and the quality is that which we have come to expect from J Crew.
