Fuzzy balloon-sleeve turtleneck sweater

I was excited to find such a cute real wool/alpaca blend sweater. But after carefully hand washing in cold water once, it shrunk to the size of a small child’s sweater. It would probably fit a 6 year old now. It also sheds white fuzz everywhere. Honestly I think this was my worst purchase from J. Crew.

The size is weird. I bought the color HTHR BRIGHT CORAL XXS before, the sweater is true to size. I love it so I bought the ivory XXS but the ivory fits too tight this time. I am surprised to find that these two colors have different sizes! If you go for ivory, the size might be smaller. Unfortunately it is final sale, otherwise I will go for ivory XS instead. It sheds slightly but I still love the design.

This sweater was too bulky to be worn under my winter jacket but as we had temperatures in the low 30s today, I didn't need a jacket when wearing this sweater. I usually wear cashmere; this wasn't quite as soft or lightweight but it was close! I didn't notice any shedding as other reviewers mentioned (though I only wore it the one day). Loved the drama of the balloon sleeves and found turtleneck to be loose and comfortable. Recommend to anyone who would like to dress up a pair of jeans. I'd give it 4.75 stars if I could... taking off a little bit for the bulkiness and full price. On sale, I'd buy another in an instant!

I bought this one in winter white and it is great. So far it has kept its shape nicely (and worn it probably a dozen times already). It is slightly large but not overly so, and it is meant to be this way. the balloon sleeves add an element of design that make it look more expensive. It is not itchy and can be worn without a shirt underneath. Definitely recommend.

If you like the slouchy sweater look for winter, this is made for you. Love the balloon sleeves and the amazing mock neck. Super cozy, super warm... make for real winter weather.

The sweater is soft and comfortable. However, the turtle neck section is extra long and very snug. You have to double or triple fold the neck and it’s snug so it becomes very uncomfortable.
