Awesome cordovan
1 week agoExcellent quality. These are destined to last for years, glad I tracked down a pair in a local store. Not sure if/when J Crew will carry these again, but I will keep my eyes open.

Some of my favorite goodyear welted shoes
January 20, 2026Alden’s are some of my favorite. Make sure to size down 1/2 to a full size of your brannock size. For reference I’m a 9D per my Brannock sizing. Yet I wear 9-9.5D in sneakers and 8D in the Alden Barrie last and Trubalance last.

Excellent craftsmanship
October 4, 2025Decided to pull the trigger on these beautifully crafted shoes on the whim. Reading about the craftsmanship of and the storied tradition of cordovan no. 8, the fact these shoes can be resoled, the practicality of the barrie last (and comfort), and wonderful patina these would develop overtime made the decision feel less a cost and more like an investment. These will last 20 years, and a good all around piece to dress up and dress down.
