Lovely but, runs large
August 1, 2020I’m so happy I read reviews and decided to go down 2 sizes. I’m a size 10 in every j crew dress. I ordered a size 6 in this dress and it was perfect but, not snug. If I wanted a more fitted look I think a 4 would have fit me. An 8 or 10 would have been huge! So yes, sizing is way off. If you get the right size it’s a very cute dress and I actually do love it!

Unflattering
May 13, 2020I bought this dress based on some of the raving reviews. I found this dress to have a very unflattering fit around the mid-section. The belt is higher that my natural waist so it looked weird. Perhaps it's for a different body type than mine. For reference I'm a size 0/2 with curves and purchased XS and it was a loose fit. Perhaps the XXS may have fit better. I returned the dress.

Nice casual piece
May 1, 2020Such a cute dress! I wasn't sure if I'd keep it until I got it ironed out, but it's very light and cute! It hits above the knee, the buttons are snaps and there are pretty deep pockets on both sides. It definitely is shapeless without the tie at the waist, and I'm going to take in the width of the sleeves a bit, but overall it's a comfy, looser fit. For reference, 5'8 and 119 lbs, size 0

April 27, 2020I’m 5”3 126 pounds, I ordered a size 4 (my regular size) the dress is really cute and versatile, the denim is not heavy, but not see through, I’m short with long legs and length wise it hits my mid knees, it’s slightly big but the belt helps a lot, and you don’t have to worry about gapping buttons.

April 21, 2020Absolutely love this dress and I can't wait to wear it out! Like with J.Crew's other dresses, this fits me so perfectly and the design is simple but flattering. For reference I am 115 lbs. and 5'3" and I bought this in a regular 2.

Soft, classic, comfortable, RUNS BIG
April 21, 2020I usually wear a Large in sweaters and tees, but need a 16 in J Crew button down shirts to make sure they fit across my broad shoulders and bust. The product description here said fitted at waist, it looked fairly fitted in the pictures and many reviews said it was true to size so I thought a 16 would work. I should have read all the reviews! This is cut straight up and down, and has a relaxed, generous fit. I have washed it in warm and dried it in the dryer 2x and it's still huge all over on me. Good news is the fabric is very soft, classic blue, and I love the snaps.
