Girls' toggle puffer coat

I purchased this jacket for my daughter last year and overall is a good jacket. But when we took it out this year, the feathers started to poke out from under and always got stuck on my daughter's clothes, not sure if this is the normal thing to happen? My daughter loves the jacket, but asked for a new jacket that doesn't have feathers flying out every time she puts it on...

I searched high and low for a good winter coat for my daughter's daily commute to school this year after wearing out the belted puffer last year. I felt like there weren't a lot of options so I went for the toggle puffer coat even though I wasn't crazy about navy blue. Surprisingly, it fit her nicely, was warm, and the fur and toggles made her look so effortlessly polished and school-ready. Haven't tried washing it but happy about my purchase so far.

We had the puffer coat for 2 winters and it worked great but this time my daughter picked the toggle coat because of the fur hood. I did not notice at the store that the zipper does not go all the way to the top of the coat, it ends at the collar bone. To close the coat completely you have to use a cumbersome button- it's a really tight fit through the button hole, very hard for a kid to do. Also, my daughter complained that the button makes the coat feel too tight on the neck when her hood is off. We bought a larger size so the rest of the coat fits fine. I wanted to like this coat but now I wish I had gotten the puffer instead.

ordered size 14 for my grand daughter.Looks lovely on her.She is quite fair and colour is great.The coat is warm,light and she loves the look.Also comfy.

I've read a review indicating this coat needs dry cleaning and sweety all I can say is guess again. We purchase this coat biannually and NEVER sent it to a dry cleaner. Um, who does that? With no special wash instructions needed, just your typical Tide, clorox 2 (to preserve the bright color) and downy to keep it soft (especially the "fur" inside the hood) and dry with dryer balls on LOW CYCLE, shake (to separate the down feathers) then repeat you will be good to go. I've never purchased dry cleaning outerwear for our little ones. Our daughter wears this coat out & about and receives multitudes of compliments. And guess what? When she outgrows them they still remain in top notch condition. This also applies to the puffer with the ribbon belt. Only difference is dont wash dark colors with clorox 2 - only the brights sweety .

my daughter and I absolutely love J Crew Coats! Year after year, this is my go to store. very warm, and thick but not bulky HOWEVER this year my only "negative" is the fleece lining is now cream rather than the usual navy blue. other than that, this coat is amazing
