All in-store returns and exchanges of purchases paid for by cash or check and made in accordance with this policy require a government-issued photo ID.

J.Crew gladly accepts returns of in-store purchases, in the country where they were purchased, of unworn, unwashed, undamaged or defective merchandise for full refund or exchange within 30 days of original purchase. Outside North America, we cannot accept cross-border returns. Requests for refund or exchange of merchandise purchased by cash or check must be accompanied by the original receipt. Refunds will be made in the form of the original payment. Purchases made by check will be refunded in cash. Requests to exchange merchandise received as a gift must be accompanied by a gift receipt. Monogrammed, personalized or final sale items cannot be returned or exchanged.

phone and internet purchases

U.S. Customers: For your convenience, J.Crew phone and Internet purchases that shipped to a U.S. address may be returned to any J.Crew store in the United States for a full refund or exchange within 60 days of original purchase. Requests for refund or exchange of merchandise purchased by check must be accompanied by the original receipt. Refunds will be made in the form of the original payment. Requests to exchange merchandise received as a gift must be accompanied by a gift receipt. Monogrammed, personalized or final sale items cannot be returned or exchanged. Customers may also choose to ship their items back on their own using either of the below methods:

  • J.Crew's Flex Label: This label provides quick, convenient return service. Our Flex Label works with both UPS and the U.S. Postal Service.
    • The Flex Label service is available on orders to all 50 states; Washington, DC; U.S. P.O Boxes; U.S. territories (excluding Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands); and APO/FPO/DPO addresses.
    • Shipping charges are prepaid and no postage is required.
    • The cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund: All items can be returned for a flat rate of $5. Simply affix the Flex Label to your package and drop it in a UPS drop box or at a UPS store, or give it to a UPS carrier. You may also drop it in a mailbox, drop it off at the post office or give it to your postal carrier.
    • Please seal the package securely and affix the Flex Label provided on the bottom of your customer receipt.
  • Ship on Your Own: You can also send the purchases back to us at the address below using any other trackable method, at your expense. Once we receive your package, we will promptly process an exchange or issue a refund in accordance with this policy. If you do not have the original packing slip, please include the following information with your return:
    • Your name and billing address.
    • The name, address and ZIP code of the person who placed the order, if it was a gift.
    • The original purchase price and approximate date of the purchase.
    • The item number of the merchandise, if available.
    • Please be certain to insure the package.

United Kingdom Customers: Orders shipped to the United Kingdom may be returned for a full refund or exchange within 60 days of purchase to any of our UK stores by emailing julie@jcrew.com or calling 0808 234 3686 to initiate a Return Merchandise Authorization, which is required to process a return. Julie and her team will provide you with instructions on where returns should be shipped. If you choose to return an item, our e-commerce partner, Borderfree, will provide you with a refund of the original merchandise price and any duties and taxes originally paid on the item in the same currency and using the same exchange rate as your original order. Please note that you will still be responsible for any shipping charges. Monogrammed or personalized items cannot be returned or exchanged. At this time, UK stores cannot accept any other international customer orders that shipped to a different destination.

Japan Customers: Orders shipped to Japan may be returned within 60 days of purchase by emailing ritsuko@jcrew.com to initiate a Return Merchandise Authorization, which is required to process a return. Ritsuko and her team will provide you with instructions on where returns should be shipped. If you choose to return an item, our e-commerce partner, Borderfree, will provide you with a refund of the original merchandise price and any duties and taxes originally paid on the item in the same currency and using the same exchange rate as your original order. Canada and Other International Customers: Orders placed at jcrew.com or by phone cannot be returned or exchanged in stores. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your international online purchase, email julie@jcrew.com within 60 days of the original purchase to initiate a Return Merchandise Authorization, which is required to process a return. Julie and her team will provide you with instructions on where returns should be shipped. If you choose to return an item, our e-commerce partner, Borderfree, will provide you with a refund of the original merchandise price and any duties and taxes originally paid on the item in the same currency and using the same exchange rate as your original order. Requests for refund or exchange of merchandise purchased by cash or check must be accompanied by the original receipt. Refunds will be made in the form of the original payment. Requests to exchange merchandise received as a gift must be accompanied by a gift receipt. J.Crew Factory merchandise cannot be returned to a J.Crew store location.

factory phone and internet purchases

J.Crew Factory merchandise purchased by phone or online may be returned to a J.Crew Factory store or by mail within 60 days of original purchase for refund or exchange. Requests for refund or exchange of merchandise purchased by check must be accompanied by the original receipt. Refunds will be made in the form of the original payment. Requests to exchange merchandise received as a gift must be accompanied by a gift receipt. J.Crew Factory merchandise cannot be returned to a J.Crew store location. Customers may choose to ship their items back on their own or using the J.Crew Flex Label as outlined above under phone and internet purchases.

price adjustments

J.Crew gladly honors a one-time price adjustment on full-price merchandise within seven days of the in-store purchase or mail-order ship date if accompanied by the original receipt. Items not purchased at full price are ineligible for price adjustments.
