Ludlow Slim-fit suit jacket in Italian cotton corduroy

I ordered this jacket on line in my size. Because I an 5"8" I prefer a 40s. While it was in transit I had to give another Ludlow cut jacket away the fit was so poor and tailoring was not advised. Yet this corduroy jacket fit well, and only the sleeves needed shortening. Seems that Short are longer in the sleeves then hitherto. The tailor lit up at this initial fit. Overall, the Crosby cut has been better for me but this one does it. The fabric has a nice hand and appearance. We have yet to see how well the shape and pigment will be maintained over time. Of course, cotton corduroy does not spring back like wool and takes on something of the shape of the wearer. Lining skillfully assembled. Clearly J Crew is becoming more demanding of the Chinese manufacturers for quality control. Now they might consider insisting on longer-staple textiles, whether wool, cashmere or cotton for their garments to maintain their appearance beyond a season or two.

I'm not really a fan of corduroy. But when I saw this jacket on Jcrew website, I couldn't resist its style and color. I was happy I bought one. The jacket looks exactly in real life like in picture. The material is soft and there's a very nice touch to it. It's not cardboard stiff like most corduroy jackets that some of my friends have. I marked it as slightly small, but I'm completely okay with it because I'm a really slender guy. If you're not slender please pay attention to this. Although it's not in the description it is partially line. I'm okay with this, too. This jacket goes with everything. It's simply beautiful. I recommend that you should get one when it's still available.

Excellent Ludlow suit for fall. The deep forest green color gives a high style look and will afford you the ability to break the suit up. The jacket will work well with dark selvage jeans or gray flannel dress pants. It's a fine wale cord and has a great sheen to the fabric as well. This is not your college professor's cord - great style and very modern.
