Teddy sherpa topcoat

The is not the best designed teddy bear coat. The buttons are problematic and don’t stay closed and there is a gold chain feature at the back of the neck that is very cold and unpleasant. The fit is supposed to be boxy but just looks oversized and bulky despite getting the correct size.

I love teddy coats and I love J.Crew, so naturally I felt that this item needed to be in my closet ASAP especially after reading the rave reviews. There was a sale, I had some store credit- easy purchase! I was so excited when the box came; however, that excitement immediately died when I tried on the coat. I looked like a p-i-m-p! But without the cane and gold teeth! A little reference: I’m a large in J.Crew and almost all women’s clothes (XL on a bad day) and I’m 5’5. I went with my usual large and geez louise this thing was HUGE!!! and long! And sooooo unflattering! I couldve worn another jacket underneath the way the thing was so big. No sir...no ma’am. Back in the box and to the post office it went, expeditiously. Disappointed because some of these other teddy coats look matted and chewed up teddy bears. [sighs] my search for the perfect teddy coat continues.....

Overall I like this coat but there is one thing that irritates me a bit - the coat is slightly stretchy except in the stripes due to stitching. The stripes are placed around hips and it doesn't stretch. it fits to TT but I'd like to have more room there.

What a great addition to my coat collection! The sherpa is beautiful and color block is chic and adds a nice dimension of style. I get many compliments on this coat anywhere I wear it.

This coat is SO great! I bought it for myself before Christmas and again after for my lovely friend's birthday! Coat is warm, cute and beautifully constructed! Styling is on trend and this coat is perfect for cool temps above zero! Runs a little small in the upper arm! Purchased XS and am able to layer underneath; usually wear sz. 4 in JC! Love it1

I bought the teddy coat from last year and I love it - style, quality, color. While I didn’t need another. a sale will make you rethink that! So I ordered this season’s in the bourbon caramel color. While it felt cozy on (the lowest bar to pass) the weave wasn’t as nice to the touch or visually (maybe it’s the more open weave or the longer “hair”?). I was disappointed in the quality (i.e.crooked/wavy hem!), and the color (odd orangey-brown vs. a rich camel). When I put on last year’s teddy, it just feels richer & better made - a “hit.” Current model is a nice more relaxed style but an overall “miss” for me :(
