What customers are saying:
Many customers really appreciated the soft, perfectly weighted fabric and modern design that gives these cargo shorts a sleek feel. Several customers suggested adding more practical and durable pockets—especially hip pockets—for extra convenience. A few noted that the shorts tend to run larger than previous styles, making them comfortable for a relaxed look while leaving room for improvements in functional details.

W&B-Great Pair of Shorts
July 21, 2020I purchased some W&B chinos in the winter and absolutely loved them. I wasn't as sure about the shorts, but now glad I got them. They are the right length, not too long or short, great fabric and color. The single pocket on each side of the shorts took a little getting used to, but I like it. Wish they came in more colors.

RIPPED
July 14, 2020Another reviewer noted how their shorts ripped under the slightest pressure. Mine did too. On the second day I wore them and they were never washed. The fabric just gave up.

Nice
April 28, 2020Nice shorts that I don't regret purchasing. These Wallace & Barnes shorts run a size larger than shorts with the J Crew label. And they lack pockets to put your hands. What I like about them is that they are sleeker than typical cargo shorts.

Wish it had hip pockets
March 27, 2020I love camo & the fabric is soft & just the right weight - not too thick or not too light. The overall background color of the short is actually an olive green & darker than depicted in the website photo. Didn't carefully read that the fly was button up rather than a zipper, but I'm ok with that. There are no back pockets which I'm also ok with. My only beef is that there are NO HIP POCKETS! I like to put my hands in my hip pockets & I also use them to put keys, spare change or my phone. There are only 2 cargo pockets total, & this being a "cargo short", wouldn't hurt to have a couple more pockets.

Camouflage shorts
March 25, 2020First let me say I’ve been a Jcrew customer dating back to the 90’s. I am usually very satisfied with the purchases I make (which have been numerous over the years). But I’m sad to say, these shorts ripped/came apart on the third wearing. Which is unusual, because Wallace & Barnes products are pretty solid performers. I believe it’s a design flaw in the shorts themselves. The cargo pocket, instead of being a little lower on the side thigh, is actually set higher (due to no hand pockets) and stretches around to the rear. If you look closely at the pictures you can see it. This puts undue stress on the backside of the shorts when you bend over. I believe that is what caused the split. As I said earlier I have bought numerous shorts from Jcrew in the past and have never experienced this problem before. If you look at the photo, you can see the rip started on the pocket seem and continued up. That being said, I’m very disappointed with this product and would not recommend.
