Puff-sleeve cotton poplin mini shirt-dress

I love this dress, it can be dressed up or down, is very versatile, can be belted, etc. Runs large but adorable.

This dress is just beautiful! I love the puff sleeves and the cuffs at the wrists. The only thing to note is that it runs extremely large. I usually wear a small in most brands, usually an XS in J.Crew, and I sized down to an XXS in this dress and it still has a relaxed fit with the dropped shoulders - don't be afraid to size down 1-2 sizes. I'm 110lbs, 5'7", and it falls a couple inches above my knees, so it's perfect for the office - I was worried sizing down would affect the length but it's still an appropriate length. If you're tall or prefer a longer length, the dress does have a generous hem that could probably be let out at least 3". Another thing to note is that in the black color, the buttons look white on the website, but they're a deep pearl gray in person, which I personally prefer.

This dress is even better in person. Slightly darker shade than on computer screen which I prefer. Material is so crisp and light weight. You can literally wear it throughout the year. Layering with sweater vest will be super cute for fall! About the sizing, I took the previous reviewer and went with one size smaller than my usual. Sooo glad I listened. Still has enough room and cute. Not tight at all. My only complaint is why?why?….. The buttons are bigger than it supposed to be? It’s hard to unbutton… a bit annoying. Never had this kinda problem from Jcrew or this price range dresses. Please review the size of button and revise them to a bit smaller or thinner. Other than that, the dress is awesome!

I truly love this dress. The fabric is wonderful, the pouf sleeve adorable and the neckline flattering. BUT, it’s a tad too short. Another 1.5 inches woulda been a much more flattering fit. Also, rather than the “boxy” fit, it needed a more hourglass cut to be truly flattering. But I would still recommend it (at the sale price) because you can have your tailor tweak it.

It does run a tad big, but this dress is tailored just enough, with the great puff sleeves and hem length, etc. to keep from looking like a bag on my short frame. As a result, I can wear it almost any season in this humid southern climate, and accessorize with scarves, jewelry, shoes, etc. Easy and useful as a daytime black dress — throw in the wash, a quick iron, and out you go again.
