Pima cotton slim-fit T-shirt

I bought this tee in black and when it arrived it had a strong chemical smell. I've never smelled anything like it on brand new clothes, but I can only assume it's chemicals from the factory processing. It's a shame, because I try to buy natural fibers like 100% cotton with the assumption that it'll be... well, natural. After checking the reviews, it seems a few others had the same issue with a factory smell for this color. The "black" color" is more of a dark charcoal gray. Unfortunately, this item is marked as final sale and ineligible to return, otherwise I would definitely send it back.

High-quality tee that works well for dress up or casual. Slim fit is flattering. Size up if you prefer a looser fit.

I love this shirt! For me, it's a perfect slim fit which I struggle to find as I am pretty slim on top with slightly broad shoulders. Other J-crew tshirts (perfect fit) tend to not fit as well for me so I was super happy about this final sale item I took a chance on! My measurements: 5'5", 120 lbs, 34 B, broad-ish shoulders, straight torso, longer torso, more muscular on my bottom half. Typically I only gain weight in the pattern of my thighs/ buttocks. I'm pretty much built like a slender boy up top with B cups. Typically a lot of t-shirts look sloppy on my because they look untailored. I do not really like an oversized crop for work/out and about because they swallow my frame despite having somewhat broad shoulders. I typically wear a straight or wide leg trouser as I find them much more flattering so a baggy tshirt just degrades my whole look. I do a fair amount of upper body weight training so although I'm pretty lean I'm not bony, if that makes sense. This shirt fits me perfect! It's not super tight but it's fitted as an XS. Which is does say in the title. I took a chance buying this on final sale but came back for 2 more because it's perfect! It's thin and soft, feels like "vintage style" or broken in t-shirt. I wear it on it's own, under my blazers at work, and out and about with jeans, a crop pant, and my trousers. It's not crazy long, but not cropped. If they sold this in more colors I'd buy more. Just as with ALL my t-shirts and most of my clothes, I wash on cold and do not put in the dryer. I do not like when my clothes shrink up. With a cold wash and air dry I have not noticed any shrinkage. Every time I put this on, it almost* feels a little tight in the shoulders and within a minute it gently stretches and lays perfect. I would say it's a slight slight faded black, but that doesn't bother me. I am a soft cool summer pale olive type of skin tone, so a slightly faded black is actually more flattering on me. Colors that show a slight texture often look better on me anyways! I wish they made this shirt in white because I'd buy a few. Being honest and realistic, I would not buy this for like 40.00-50.00 USD because that's crazy for a t-shirt that I know is made for pennies on the dollar outsourced elsewhere, but it was the perfect purchase for 10-20.00 USD. The prices of JCrew have steadily been creeping up over the years. In my feedback I've let them know that customers don't expect items to be dirt cheap, but it's tedious to see so many companies charging so much for items that are made with exploited labor overseas. I wouldn't have an issue paying 40.00 for a shirt that was ethically made but we know it's not so these prices are puzzling to me. Just trying to be completely honest!

Fantastic t-shirt. Wears and washes well. Great for casual to dressup - it truly is a smart looking t-shirt.
