Wide-brim boater hat with ribbon ties

I like it hat!! The window is wide

I was extremely disappointed that this large beautiful hat was packed in a tiny box and arrived completely bent and distorted. I considered contacting customer service to replace the hat...but then I decided to use an iron to flatten the brim into shape. Worked perfectly. A boater hat should have a perfectly flat brim. Now this is an absolutely gorgeous hat...and for the price it's exceptional. I'm normally a size 55 (small) hat size and the the S/M fits as I would expect... a tiny bit loose but not even enough to need padding inside the band. Note to J Crew: All hats should be packaged in a box large enough to not distort the shape. It should be a company policy.

I bought this hat because it had a wide brim and the title says there is a ribbon tie. There is not a ribbon that ties under the chin. I don’t know why they don’t change the title.?

I bought the Wide-brim boater hat in Natural Straw in Small-Medium. First, let me clarify that unlike the name and description currently say, this does NOT come with ribbon ties. It has a black ribbon band only. Hence the 4 stars. As for sizing, short story: the S/M fits more snuggly than the One-Size Textured summer straw hat. Long story: I fit fine in that one so I based my decision on that and my measurements compared to the size chart. However I measured again when the hat was tighter than expected and my head is 22 3/4" inches...no wonder it fits snug, I probably should have bought the large. So it's true to the size chart. Overall I'm ok with the "secure" fit. It works well as a sun hat and it's cute.

So I was on the fence about this hat even though I loved how it looked. It’s tricky to pack. Don’t want to damage it. But I tried it on and it’s gorgeous!
