Cropped pant in stretch chino

These chinos run very small. The quality is so-so for J. Crew. I expected a better quality. Color was a bit different than pictured. I was not pleased with this purchase.

I know how this will sound, but I swear I have never tried on a pair of size 14 pants that were too small! Unflattering, sure, but not so narrow that I couldn't pull them up on my hips! I even have other styles of J Crew chino in 14 that are slightly too big! SO WHY ARE THESE SO TINY?? I will keep them in the back of the closet for six months and if I can't shrink down to fit them, I guess I'll just have to give them away (final sale - the risk I took).

These pants look great for about 30 minutes, after which point they start bagging out and losing their shape. I originally ordered a size 6 Tall (my normal size in J.Crew). My husband thought they were too butt-hugging for school (I'm a teacher), so I exchanged for the 8 Tall because other reviewers said they run small and they DID initially feel fitted for work. Now the 8 Talls are WAY too big after wearing them for a short time and I can't exchange them. The waist is comically large and the seat of the pants completely bags out. I can actually pull them down while completely buttoned. I look like a complete mess by the end of the day. Unless J.Crew starts getting its sizes right and using quality fabrics that don't stretch out beyond reasonable wear I won't be buying pants from here again.

I could not be happier with this purchase! These are a stylish, slimming, well made pair of chinos. The fit is perfect. I am between sizes based on J Crew's size chart. I went with the larger of the two sizes and the fit is absolutely perfect. I wouldnt want them smaller, so I would say they run slightly smaller compared to other styles J Crew carries. I am 5.4 and love the length. It works with flats, heels or boots. The material is substantial and seems less wrinkle prone than typical chinos. I see myself getting much wear out of these, year round and for work and weekends. Thanks J Crew for the sale on these pants and the fast free shipping.

I'm a long time J Crew customer and I've been the same size (0/XS/25W) in their clothes for years. I ordered 2 pairs of these pants on a promotion and I knew that they were just wrong as soon as I unwrapped them from the bags. I thought for a moment that I was mistakenly sent sizes from the Crewcuts line, but no, I finally fell victim to what many others have been lamenting: J Crew's dreaded inconsistent sizing. Once I tried them on and got them zipped, they looked comically bad: way too tight in all the wrong places and even though they are supposed to be cropped, the cuffs were up around my calves (I'm only 5'4). They are an abysmal loss. J Crew, please fix your sizing problems and stop frustrating your loyal customers.

I've always loved JCrew chino so when I saw these I was excited. After reading the reviews I decided to order a size 4 (2 pair) because I wanted them to fit slightly loose. I'm usually a size 2 in the city fit which they no longer carry. Needless to say I could not put one leg in these pants. Since I couldn't return them I gave them to my daughter who's a 00. I'm 5'2 127 pds. My daughter is 5'3 102 pds just for reference. So disappointed
