Ludlow Classic-fit suit jacket in Italian stretch four-season wool blend

I bought this suit for my college age son and it's a beautiful color, fabric, and fit. Bought it on sale along with the pants and it was a great deal!

My son keeps growing. So after growing out of another Thompson suit, I thought I'd try this one (hoping he's close to his final height) for Senior Prom. The color and feel of the charcoal wool is very similar to his old suits, which we love. I just went up one size and the jacket fits well but we may shorten the sleeves a tad. Waiting on the pants to decide any alterations. Last Thompson suit = he was about 5-10, #155 and wore 38R, 32x32 (we went into our Factory store to get measurements right). Ludlow suit = he is 6', #185 and I ordered 40R, 34x34 (with the expectation that he'll want them about 34x33). I'm a big fan of both the Thompson and Ludlow wool suits!

I love the color of this suit and it has a great fit. The material is also really nice and comfortable, and the quality construction is clear.

Ironically shortly before receiving this email from you all requesting feedback, my tailor, whom I had given the suit to for touch up alterations, called and noticed a 1/2 razor thin but noticeable cut in the fabric on the back of the jacket. I am extraordinarily pressed for time, so to rebox, send back and exchange, etc. is a major headache. He is going to attempt to patch the cut. I hope my experience is an outlier because I love your products, but receiving an imperfect brand new product will make me hesitant to shop online with J Crew in the future.

While the color itself was a bit darker than in the online picture, the quality of a Ludlow jacket never misses! This jacket will be a staple item throughout the year with it's versatility and lightweight construction.
