Great quality, but looks matronly.
December 6, 2016I wanted to like this skirt... but I ended up returning because it looked too matronly. I bought this in white for my bridal shower because it looked so great on the model. However, in person the skirt was not form fitting at all, I would not consider this a pencil skirt due to the loose fit. The lace is really pretty, great quality, and I would have kept this skirt if it fit nice and snug like the model in the photo. Simply put, it just did not fit like a pencil skirt and so I returned.

True to size...yay
November 27, 2016Skimming, pretty and true to size. Nice summer skirt. Could have done without the nude lining -- white would have been my preference -- but I'll learn to dig the nude. I bought my usual 4 and the skirt fit just right.

Stunning, elegant skirt!
October 1, 2016Bought this at my local J. Crew store. They didn't have my usual size 4 in pencil skirts, so I tried the 2 and it fit like a glove. There is NO give or stretch in the skirt. I'm 5'8" and 128 lbs -- the length is perfect (just above the knee) and the scalloped hem so flattering and perfectly complements the lace. Note -- the lace is not very "lacy" -- more of a cutout floral design (which I prefer) that won't catch on things as easily as lace. The lining is a peachy nude (not super obvious in photo). Others said this is not a pencil skirt, but on me, it's definitely more pencil than A-line -- hangs straight at the bottom; does not taper in.

A Contradiction of Design
August 24, 2016I bought the skirt online. What a huge disappointed! No wonder there are no pictures that view the back of the skirt. The slit of the skirt is wayyyyy too high! This is so unusal with J.Crew skirts. The length of the skirt is 25" and the slit starts on 16." What a contradiction of design! I read the reviews but no one mentioned this problem. Is it possible that I received a defected skirt?

The perfect lace skirt.
August 16, 2016This is such a lovely skirt & I am glad I took the chance & ordered it despite being on final sale. I agree with previous posts that this skirt is not quite pencil but not quite a-line either. I ordered my regular size & am happy with the fit. There is not much give in the fabric though. The lining is a dark flesh tone & not white as pictured! Overall, it has a very flattering & slimming effect. This skirt has sat in my wish list for quite some time as I have been hesitant to order because I wasn't quite sure about the fit as pictured. I think it is great for a catalog but I felt showing the white skirt on a white background with the model posing at an angle on-line could show a deceptive fit. I just want to see how it lays on the hips straight on. As someone who prefers dresses, I was really drawn to this skirt but it is now final sale. I came across the blog jcrewismyfavstore (I concur!) & thank you Rynetta because I decided to take the chance & just order it because of you!

Lovely Summer Lace Skirt
August 14, 2016Saw this online and loved the lace and loved the price as well. It seems almost winter white and that is likely because the lining is a very dark tan which shows through the lace.. I thought it ran a bit small compared to other J Crew skirts so I sized up to an 8. Glad I did, for it was not exchangeable.
