Very Bad Quality Rips easily
April 15, 2016I bought 4 of these pants because they fit well and I liked the way they looked. Sadly they lasted only 2 months. All of them ripped on the knees. To clarify I work in an office sitting on a desk so am not on my knees ever while wearing them. The design is nice sadly the quality is very very poor. I have noticed a big decline in quality in the production. Sad because I like the design. I strongly recommend you don't buy them. I am accustom to purchase jeans that last at least 5 years with normal wear and tear. 2 months of life time use for the price point and for jeans that are supposed to be long lasting pants are not indicative of quality.

please bring back the matchstick in stores!
October 3, 2014i am an average sized woman (5'6" and 125 lb.) but I CANNOT FIT into your skinny or the new reid jean. i have larger calves. the sales guy said the reid was the same but it is not. i tried and failed to get them on. so PLEASE bring this style back for those of us who aren't built with skinny legs! i am 54 but like to look current, and my go-to jean in my go-to store is gone. i'm sad and had to buy jeans at the gap (big sigh here!) i did try on a boyfriend jean but they are all too short for me: flood-waders. i ordered on-line, but i like to try on jeans before i buy, since every pair is slightly different. take pity on the larger-calved!

Love these jeans!
September 13, 2014Highly recommended! I've already got two pairs (one of each wash, Luella and Chase), and I'm considering buying another pair already - they're that good. The extra stretch and the slightly more fitted thigh make these even better and more flattering than the regular version (which used to be my favorite jeans - until these arrived). I wear a size 24, and find that one or two pairs of my other matchstick jeans sometimes feel a little loose through the waist and thigh, but these are a perfect fit without being uncomfortably snug at the waist or anywhere else. The denim is substantial but also very soft to the touch; even this darker wash has a perfectly-broken-in feel right away. The only improvements I'd like to see are short (30" inseam) sizes, and maybe a few more washes next season, please.

Disappointing
July 30, 2014I've bought jcrew matchstick jeans in the past and these are a disappointing departure from previous versions. These jeans are higher rise than older pairs I have and the waist is noticeably larger, despite all pairs being size 26. The higher rise leads to having lots of excess fabric bunched up around my lower stomach area which is pretty unflattering. Older versions of these jeans have fit like they were made for me and these are just not the same cut. The fabric is also has a tendency to bunch up weirdly, which the fit could be making worse. I wish they would bring back the 98% cotton, 2% spandex jeans, instead of these that have 6% polyester, the fabric isn't nearly as nice or durable. If these weren't a final sale item, I probably would have returned them.
