Alden 405
November 11, 2019Boots are awesome and super quality. It’s my 4th pair of Alden so I was familiar with the quality. Definitely recommend a size down purchase. Make sure you follow Alden recommendations for leather care.

awesome
September 23, 2018These look great, ultra high quality construction, American made. Once you wear Alden, everything else is basically trash. Note: Go down a half-size.

Darn Good Looking!
August 11, 2018I've had a crush on these boots for two years, and I finally pulled the trigger a few months ago. My counsel is this - stop lusting, start buying. The overall build and construction is so obvious when you see it in person and they are beautiful boots! A half size down did the trick for but I have wide feet and I will be wearing thick merino wool socks for more comfort. Get a pair before they sell out fast and you’ll have to wait months before they restock.

Expensive, but well worth every penny
February 14, 2018I have been looking at the Alden Indy 405 boots for a couple of years now. Once I found the J. Crew version and they were in stock I decided to take the plunge. Note: You will want to go down a half size from your regular size boot, but with that half size smaller the boots fit perfectly. I even have room for arch supports since I have high arches. The boots are comfortable and really didn't have a long break in period, probably around the end of the second week it was like I had been wearing them for years. I'm a diabetic and sometimes I try boots that I can't wear because they hurt my feet, but these do not. They look great and feel great. My feet actually hurt now when I wear a cheaper pair of boots I had before the Indy's. I highly recommend these boots. I think they will last a lifetime, and they look great.

Great looking boot, leather could be a bit better.
January 16, 2018These fit and look great out of the box. They do run large and wide so half a size from your brannock is definitely recommended. Leather creased really strangely on the outside uppers after only wearing twice so that for sure left a bit to be desired.

An Excellent Investment
January 9, 2018Having read most of the reviews here and on other websites regarding the Indy boots and many mentioning to size down half in this boot, and I find an 8.5 to fit perfectly. I sometimes have to work doubles, and this past holiday I was able to work 17 hour shifts in these boots from day 1 with absolutely no pain or fatigue (I also walked to work that day). The color, though it says heathered raisin, seems to pull towards more of a medium-dark Brown with hints of brick/dark burgundy, really quite beautiful. It is an investment and so i recommend not getting salt on them in the winter and purchasing shoe trees to help maintain the shape. It looks fantastic with every pair of chinos and jeans I’ve worn with it so far, I’ve even worn it with sportcoats and blazers as it can be dressed up a bit too. I would definitely purchase more of these from J Crew if they did some other collaborations with different leathers.
