These are stunners
February 12, 2022Absolutely beautiful boot. Extremely versatile color and wearability. Can be paired with most except for formal. Although on the Barrie last, these do feel just a bit more snug than other Alden Barrie last shoes I have in the same size, particularly on the top of the foot. With cordovan, you shouldn't purchase these with expectations to stretch. Your selection in sizing may also be dependent on the type of socks you plan to wear with these (thin or thick) and how you like your boot to feel (snug or roomy). Personally, I wear thin and like a snug feel so sized down, but cant comfortable wear these with thicker socks. Overall, a no brainer purchase if you are looking for a beautiful cordovan pair of boots.

Versatile boots for any occasion
January 11, 2021These Alden jumper boots can be worn with just about anything, from jeans to chinos to dress slacks to full suits. Although they’re made on the Barrie last, I find they fit much closer to true-to-size than other Alden shoes on the Barrie last. I generally wear size 9.5 E in most dress shoes, and these boots in 9.5 D fit great, with the fit being similar to other Alden shoes and boots I own in size 9 D on the Barrie last.

Typical excellent Alden quality
March 14, 2020What can I say that hasn't already been said about these? Stunning boots. Cordovan is a real departure from your typical cow/calf leather. Aldens Barrie last runs around a half size larger than Brannock. With thin socks, I'd go down a half size, and maybe go normal Brannock for thick socks. I don't have to review the quality. If you're familiar with Alden you'll find these are unsurprisingly excellent. There are many makeups of this boot out there from various vendors, but this J.Crew collab is one of the only ones that come with the black edged double leather sole, the speed-hooks, the 270 degree welt and the Barrie last all in one shot.

Stunning boot
February 1, 2020These cordovan cap toes are stunning. Great color, very comfortable and are extremely well built. Alden’s Barrie last runs slightly large so sized down 1/2 from my normal dress shoe size of 10, to 9.5 and they fit perfect. Would highly recommend and would definitely make the purchase again.
