Great quality but runs small
April 15, 2022Love the style and the quality is amazing. I wish I sized up. Bought on final sale. It will fit after I lose a few quarantine pounds. This coat will last for years to come.

Beautiful dress coat but...
April 11, 2022I had my eyes on this coat for a long time but was hesitated because of the size, quality and style the reviewers mentioned. Finally I purchased one when it was on sale. First I want to say the coat fits my pear-shaped body perfectly. I'm 5'5" and 125lbs. I wear 34b bras. My waist is 25 inches and my hips is 37 inches. The size 2 fits me very well. I can even wear a thick sweater (like the JCrew honeycomb cashmere sweater) underneath. I was very worried about the bottom might be too small for me but it flares just right in a beautiful way. Cons: 1) The description says the cuffs' buttons are functional but they are not. 2) No Thinsulate in the sleeves so this coat is not for very cold days. 3) The double-cloth wool fabric is stiff but not soft. In conclusion, this is still a beautiful coat and worth to have one (not in full price). If JCrew can improve the quality as I listed above, I'd love to pay full price (or even higher full price) in future.

Major downgrade
March 19, 2022This is my 4th lady day coat, having purchased a few others over the last 6 years or so. I had overlooked some of the complaints about quality in the reviews because I have been satisfied with my more recent offerings. This 2021-22 version, however, is a big downgrade from the coats I bought just a few years ago. The fabric feels cheap, the lining bunches and it looks like something I could have bought at H and M for a fraction of the price. Very disappointing. This is a classic coat that should last for years. This edition, not so much.

Size upppp especially if you’ve got a larger bust
March 17, 2022Love this jacket and it looks great unbuttoned, but I look insanely frumpy when I wear it buttoned. I read the reviews and sized up (normally an 8, got a 10), but I’ve got bigger boobs (36D) and it can barely button around them. Other than that, it’s very flattering, a good length, and the perfect warmth for a spring jacket. Bought it for my NYC trip and loved it in the 30-50 degree weather.

So happy I bought this!
March 15, 2022I have wanted to buy this coat for three years but never did due to the price point. Finally this was on sale and I took the leap. I am so happy I did. I love this. So classic, stylish and surprisingly warm. It does run a little small/snug in my opinion. I am normally a 4 in things but bought a 6 in this and it is perfect.
