Field mechanic jacket in Japanese cotton-linen

Contrary to the description, this is NOT water-repellant. Splash it with water while washing your hands, and watch it soak right in. After a few hours in cool weather, moisture started seeping OUTWARD through every seam at the cuffs, the elbow pads, the drawstring, even where the tag was sewn in. I've never had this happen with a jacket, ever, and it wasn’t like I was sweating profusely, either. It got to the point where I had to go buy a new top layer. It also isn’t unlined, like they say - it has a metallic gray lining. The hood is enclosed in Velcro, not a zipper like most field jackets have. It's also produced under the “Wallace & Barnes” brand, which isn’t disclosed on the website. Maybe J. Crew wants to distance themselves from this rare swing-and-miss.
