Colorblock bandeau one-piece

This is my first J.Crew swimsuit. I ordered a size 8. I always wear one-piece swimsuits and have a few brands that fit perfectly. This swimsuit has thicker bra inserts than most, which makes the top look a little bulky, so I replaced them with smaller ones that I have. The bottom seems a little loose and doesn't have the coverage that I like, but it is okay. The material is good. If I ordered a smaller size 6 I don't think that would improve the fit issues.

I ordered size 10, but from the wait down was too long specially around the butt, the top was ok. Good quality but this swimsuit is for someone that is full figure. I got it on sale, cannot returned. I usually wear size 10.

Ordered the blue stripe in my normal jcrew swim size 6. I'm 51, 5'4' 132# and normally size 4 for this brand. All of my JCrew swimsuits going back 15 years are size 6. This one was a slightly big but not enough to size down. I had problems with the straps as well, as they don't stay in place at the top of the suit and this causes the tan lining to clearly show. This item was final sale, but I am sure this is a defect.

I really wanted to like this suit. The blue color is great and is flattering once its adjusted but it's takes forever to get it adjusted right. I had to take the removable cups out in order for the lining to not bunch up and show at the top. There is way to much fabric in the lining, the bra is not sewn down so it also creeps up and the straps do not stay in place in the hooks. Several times the first time I wore it the straps popped out. This is just not practical if you want to do anything except lounge in it. I'm not sure how someone can wear it without the straps and not have the suit fall down. I have other JCrew suits and love them so I took a gamble and ordered this on sale. Unfortunately its not returnable.

I love this suit! So flattering in the bust area and beautiful color combination. Hides what I need to hide. My daughter says I don’t look 50 in it so it’s a win in my book.
