Smocked-waist tank in silk-cotton voile

I was worried because of the reviews, but this fits me perfectly. I'm petite with a short torso. I'm a 36c and a small is a perfect fit.

I ordered two colors in this tank top, white and burnished pecan, both in size small (to avoid a too-short bottom ruffle that would lean towards maternity wear). The burnished pecan fits perfectly! I love it! The white top is 2" larger on the waist and straps and I look like I'm swimming in it. Literally, the only thing keeping the straps on my shoulders were the bra-strap clips (five stars for those!). This is disappointing because I can't exchange the white top for an XS because it was a final sale item. How should I have known that the white top would run at least a size, if not two, larger? Quality control, J Crew!

I love this top. The beautiful pecan color will transition to fall nicely. And for those worrying that it needs to be dry cleaned - Do Not Worry. I washed mine today in the washing machine on the gentle cycle in cold water and it came out perfect. Hung it up to dry. No damage and no shrinkage.

*I wrote this same comment on the Liberty version of the top, as I tried both styles and am keeping both! This top seems polarizing - either it looks custom made or is a total miss. Fortunately for me it works beautifully. 34C, hourglass-pear, typically a 29 in jeans, and the S is flirty perfection. I also tried the M which was too big in the bust, and the XS which was too small at the hip. I have a long torso (need long size swimsuits) so the length of the straps is just right for me, but I can see that others would need them shortened. I was aware of the length before ordering (23" is the shortest style of top I will order, but it does just cover the tops of jeans for me). I purchased in Black and with the two light layers, no issues being see through. Do be aware it can be tricky to pair this top with a bra due to the low, wide, square-ish neckline. A balconette style with low cups will work best; many "regular" bras will show at the corners.

I live in Texas where it stays hot until November so I'm always looking for summer pieces in fall colors to transition. I loved the detail on this piece and was excited that one of the other reviewers mentioned it has those little ties to keep your bra straps in place. However, the top dips down too low in the front to wear a traditional bra, it shows the top of the cups which renders the strap holders useless. Other than that it was very cute, flattering and true to size. I just want to be able to wear a normal bra for daytime and not deal with strapless all day. I'm 5'7", 155lbs, 36B and ordered my usual size medium.

I am 5'8", bust is 32D and I am long waisted so tops can run a little short for me. This gorgeous black tank fit perfectly and looks great with jeans, shorts and skirts, easy to dress up or wear casually. The material is a really nice light weight without being see-through and great for keeping cool in humid and/or hot climates. I noticed a few reviews mentioned the straps were a tad bit too long but that isn't the case for me. I also agree that a strapless bra works best. Lastly, others mentioned the Dry Clean only requirement was an issue, so to make it easy, I use Dryel to do dry cleaning at home.
