Smocked cotton poplin dress in gingham

I guess I took a risk by choosing this dress. I’m not usually into gingham, but decided to lean in to the print and the smocking trend. This dress is just not for me, however. The fabric literally looks and feels like a tablecloth. It’s thin and and scratchy. The smocking part also doesn’t flatter me. Perhaps I should have sized down, but it doesn’t have enough support for me to wear without a bra. I’m disappointed I went out on a limb and bought this on final sale, but at least it was heavily discounted.

If you have a larger chest (or bust), stay away from this dress! It’s such a cute cut and nice fabric weight- but it’s totally unflattering and tight on the upper body and accentuates any extra fat around your armpits. It was a miss for me and sadly can’t return it!

Cute summer dress but the fabric is a bit stiff to me and there is no lining. But with the final sale price I paid I am happy with the purchase. I am 5’2 so petite is supposed to work better length wise but petite is unavailable. I purchased the regular medium and was surprised that the length is actually perfect!

I was drawn to this dress for its cute and comfortable looking vibe. When I first put it on I was a bit put off because the fabric felt too stiff and not at all what I thought it would be. However, I kept it and I'm glad I did. I washed the dress which helped to make the cotton more wearer friendly. It is a perfect go-to for casual summer get-togethers. The adjustable straps help customize the fit which is a plus. It may be somewhat overpriced for what it is, but price per wear it may end up being reasonable.

I’m so happy I ordered this dress! I’m 5’0 and 105 lbs and xxs fits nicely. I just ordered the Rose Vine pattern!

I purchased the Gingham sun dress to wear to a birthday dinner by the water. It was perfect for the occasion and very comfortable. I received many compliments with the matching face mask and J Crew sneakers and footies.
