Halter top in Ratti® compass print

Do NOT waste your money on this top; it is comically oversized and profoundly unflattering. I used J. Crew’s size guide and ordered a S, my usual size. When it arrived, I was shocked by how big, stuff, and unflattering it was; I would have needed an XXS, even though I’m not petite. (I’m 5’7” and 140 lbs.) I’m also out money since I bought this top on final sale. Sorry, J. Crew, but this 30+ year customer is not impressed by the lousy cut. Do better, especially if you’re asking customers to eat the cost of your mistakes.

Stalked this halter until it was on sale + additional % off, great item at sale price. Print is very pretty and as a former New Englander I love it. Agree that neck strap stitching is superfluous and can easily be removed without altering appearance of garment. I am 5'2", 115, 36D and bought a small which fits perfectly. Zipper is not needed - can easily step into or pull on over your head. Definitely worth buying on sale and saving for coastal trips/next season.

I agree with other reviewers about the sizing. Wasn't sure what size to order based on them. I am a 4/6. I got a S, but somewhat wish I got the M, although the M would have been too big in the waist area. It was a bit tight in the bust (I have a 37 in. bust), so no room to wear a bra...so silicone nipple covers it is {:>) I didn't realize it had a zipper, but got it over my head (and broad shoulders) just fine. Got it on sale- material is NO WHERE WORTHY of full price. It's a very pretty pattern, but it's thin/not substantial.

It was really hard to decide upon the size: I filled in true fit measurements, read two previous reviews, and I thought I'd give a word to those in medium-small range who are also trying to make their minds. I usually wear 6 with J.Crew (dresses, skirts), but based on true fit and size chart, I ordered medium. I am 32ddd, so nothing gapes in the back, but it's rather wide around my waist and I am not sure why you even need a zipper (I can just pull it on like a tshirt). I think small would fit just fine and be a bit more tailored. It's a final sale, so I might just end up taking it to the tailor and reduce the width/get rid of zipper. I'd also agree on removing stitching close to the neck: without it ties fall into place much better. Bottom line: must have if you are from New England, but recommend sizing down.

Love the print! Very pretty shade of blue. I usually wear a 12 and purchased the Large. The fit is good, but I had to take out the stitch that holds the straps together in front for it to lay properly. Pair with a white midi skirt and sandals and you are by the seashore. Perfect!

I am heading to Nantucket and thought this would be the perfect vacation halter. The print is very cute- love it. The fit is off. It is way too big. For reference- I am a 34 b and there is at least 3 inches of material that gapes open around the back. I ordered a small. Maybe if I ordered an xxs? Anyway, this will probably work for someone with a larger chest.
