Fits slightly big based on
11 customer reviewsWhat customers are saying:
These tech shorts are getting great marks for comfort, stretch, and easy everyday wear, with customers saying they look sharp and work well for everything from the gym to summer outings. The fabric is also a big plus, since it dries quickly, doesn’t wrinkle much, and holds up well in heat. Fit-wise, several customers found they run a bit large in the waist, so sizing down one size seems like a safe bet. Overall, they seem like a solid warm-weather short that’s comfortable and versatile.

Nice idea, but runs very big in the waist
March 4, 2024I bought size 32 for my size 34 waist, knowing that vanity sizing is common across JCrew's pants and shorts. 32 usually works. Sometimes it's a bit loose, but fine. These in size 32 still had at least an inch of play -- they were very big, requiring a tight cinch of a belt, scrunching the fabric together in front. Not a good look. Perhaps it was mis-marked? Sloppy quality control? Had these fit properly, I would have liked them, as they are as described otherwise.

Nice shorts, but very large in the waist
August 10, 2023The pair I ordered ran very large in the waist. I typically wear 32 at J.Crew, but I ordered a 31 in these after reading some reviews for both the 7" and 9" shorts that the waist runs big. But even with a 31 I get a full inch of play and the shorts are unwearable without a belt. Nice shorts, but best to try on.
