J.Crew version of R R L Officer Chino Short
July 15, 2023These are very traditional chino shorts. Think 1950s & awesome. Button fly, heavier chino material, large leg hole, perfect 8” inseam. I’d say these run a little bit. I haven’t washed them yet, but I’m sure they’ll shrink a little bit. I wish I’d have bought more, but I’m happy with this pair. If you’re into that timeless classic J.Crew look from the 80s/90s…you’ve arrived.

Perfect material — wide leg opening
July 14, 2023OK. So I’ve been longing for 100% cotton shorts and the material on these are GREAT. (I truly miss the classic “Stanton” shorts Jcrew offered that were 100% cotton or linen.) Some caveats is the leg opening is flared out a little. But I think that’s the retro-vintage style Wallace and Barnes was going for. I personally don’t mind it, but can’t see where those with thinner legs would look awkward in them. However, nothing a tailor can’t fix, especially the price point and the material/quality you’re getting. I recommend. But if you have a belly, these are higher rise and may not fit you well. And if you have skinny legs they may look awkward on you if you’re not looking for the retro fit.

Timeless shorts, great quality
October 4, 2022Nothing to see here, just a really comfortable well made pair of shorts! Everything is as it should be with these shorts; no stretch, just durable cotton, usable pockets, and just the right length. Runs slightly large.

Okay shorts
August 21, 2022Quality seems good, but the button fly is unnecessary.. why would anyone want a button fly instead of a traditional zip. Also, the cut of these doors not lead to well fitting shorts. No taper, just straight , does not look good

August 12, 2022A button popped off after three washes. No, it wasn't a tight fit and yes, I use the gentle cycle. Just poorly made and wildly overpriced.
