Collection blazer-jacket in Italian plaid

Blazer is well made, beautiful colors, classy looking, but runs large in my opinion. I am usually a size small on top, typically order a size 4 in numeric sizing, the 4 works, but believe a 2 would have been a better fit, but, final sale, so, will make it work with heavier layer beneath.

This is an updated review which includes measurements. I typically wear a J. Crew size 6 in blazers (with the exception of the Willa blazer where I had to size down to a size 4) I ordered this J. Crew Collection Italian plaid blazer in a size 6, given the fact that the description said it was "fitted". It is not and runs boxy like a mens blazer. For comparison : my previous size 6 J. Crew blazer measured 15 inches shoulder to shoulder and 17 inches across the chest (pit-to-pit). In contrast, this Collection blazer in a size 6 measures 17 inches across the shoulders and a whopping 20 inches across the bust (pit-to-pit). I have no idea what is going on with J. Crew's measurements these days, but quality control is certainly lacking when 2 different size 6 J. Crew blazers can have a full 3 inch difference in the bust and a full inch difference in the shoulders. Since the shoulders are so large and the body of the jacket would need to be altered by 3 inches, it's too expensive to have tailored. Off to a re-sale shop it goes (since final sale and cannot be returned). Pity.

Love the pattern and quality of this jacket. However, the description notes that the jacket is "fitted", but it is anything but. The jacket is HUGE and is cut very boxy and long. For reference, I wear a size 6 in all J Crew blazers (with the exception of the Willa blazer where I wear a size 4). Based on the description of "fitted" I ordered my normal size 6. It it about 2 sizes too big in the shoulders, across the bust and waist (and no, unfortunately I haven't lost weight LOL !) Too bad it is final sale, so off it will go to find a new home at a resale shop. Too bad too, since it is a beautiful blazer.
