I took a chance while this dress was on sale and I’m glad I did! The material has more stretch than anticipated, and is thicker and higher quality than most other slip dresses. The one area that made this a 4 star instead of a 5 star is the built-in inner bra. The size of the bra seems unusually small in comparison to the rest of the dress, despite the material being able to stretch. For anyone with a larger chest, keep that in mind - I went up one dress size to accommodate for my chest (36DD) after reading the other reviews. As other reviewers mentioned, it’s a bit awkward to put on the dress with the inner bra and the string straps, but after that it’s comfortable and I certainly feel like I can move around without issue.

I am glad I took a chance on this dress when on sale. Sure the floating bra is not functional, but I can still wear my regular bra and the material covers it. The dress makes me look good. Now I just need to find an excuse to wear it. The pink color is beautiful.

I bought this dress to wear to a Broadway play (Westside Story). I was so skeptical due to the reviews but I am fortunate to see that it worked out for me! I am just short of 5'4" and have a muscular hourglass build 36C-26-36. The bra is thin and form fitting so I won't be wearing a bra but I really don't need to. It made me have a slight under boob but it wasn't uncomfortable and nobody will see it. The pink is really beautiful in person and goes well with my skin. The rest of the dress fits loose on me in a size 4 but a 2 wouldn't have worked with my lats/bust. It's a quality dress which is hard to come by these days at this price point, if it works out for you!

This dress is perfect on me! I almost didn't buy it on final sale (no returns) because of the reviews but I am SO glad I did. I am going to leave too many details hoping it will help someone else on the fence. I am a bust size 36DD, 150 lbs, 5' 8" tall and bought my normal J Crew Size 10. It fits like it was tailored for me. While it takes some doing getting into it, I don't feel the need for any extra support like a strapless bra (which I almost always need) or Spanx. This is a dress I will find more opportunities to wear!

The red colour is stunning, and the design is interesting and sophisticated. However, the execution is a failure. As another reviewer noted, the bra is odd and just doesn't work. It's very narrow, like a strip of fabric rather than an actual bra, and uncomfortably tight compared with the rest of the dress, which fits nicely and TTS. I'm wondering if it's possible to somehow have this part of the dress altered so it's wearable, but the dress is so expensive to begin with, I shouldn't have to resort to this .
