Christopher John Rogers X J.Crew cross-front maxi dress in stripe

Fabulous Dress. I’m not sure what either reviewer are talking about. This dress is beautiful. The “gaping hole” not really, more of a sexy key hole is just one of the advantages of this dress that makes it special. It was easy for me to put it on, and I live alone. The material is beautiful. I’m 5’6, 125 lbs and this dress was made for me. I love all Christoper John Roger’s design. Super lucky JCREW did a collaboration with him.

I fell in love with this dress from the pics. But this dress is a disaster. They must have covered the model in tape under the gown to get it to lay on her body like it does the photo. DO NOT buy this dress. It doesn't make sense in the least. As others have described it is impossible to tie yourself up in this thing without it looking like you are wearing a trash bag or ready to expose yourself to all that gaze at you. It's really disappointing that JCREW would put out a dress like this knowing what a failure it is. And the fact that you can't return it is even more infuriating. If JCREW cared about the fact that I have been a loyal customer since 1992 they would give me at least a store credit for the hassle I went through to extricate myself from this bizarre fabric puzzle.

I love the design and stripes of this dress, so I didn’t hesitate to purchase this once it went on sale. The material has some weight to it and a beautiful sheen. I zipped it up and it fit like a glove. However, my heart fell when I looked in the mirror and saw a gaping hole in the chest area. The tie belt is really meant to conceal the cleavage. Even carefully placed, it’s hard to avoid under/side boob. I’m curvy and petite, so this could work better for a longer torso. I wouldn’t be able to wear this with a strapless bra and I fear that adhesives could slip out. I found myself constantly pulling the dress down to try to get it to lay flat to avoid accidentally flashing someone.
