Highly recommended
November 21, 2022This was the first suit that I purchased from J Crew. I now own around 18 suits (not all J Crew). This is the perfect ‘Everyday’ suit. Easy to maintain and not expensive. I had both the jacket and pants tailored for a more European fit so another $90.00, but well worth it. I’m glad I bought 2 of the same suit (navy) because I wear them often. I would definitely recommend the Ludlow line from J Crew but factor in that if you are tall and slim you should still get them tailored.

Needs tailoring
July 5, 2022Great ‘workhorse’ suit but if you are used to European fits you will need to get it tailored. The pants were spot on but I needed to have the jacket waist slimmed.

Very Good basic suit
March 9, 2022This is a very good basic suit. If you have small narrow shoulders the unstructured nature of the jacket will best fit you but also provides a slightly less formal look. The lack of lining and the jacket being a 51% cotton and 49% wool blend makes this a light and breathable jacket. Normally cotton jackets tend to wrinkle pretty easy but the wool helps keep the suits shape. I will say the jacket is a bit stiff and coarse but maybe that will soften with more wears. The suit is your prototypical Ludlow slim fit, however it's a tad odd that JCrew opted for a more formal length considering this is a more casual suit. If this jacket was more blazer length, this could be worn simply as a sports coat. I am 5'5" and a 34S off the rack fit me with no alterations. You could wear this all four seasons since it looks and wears just like an jersey fabric suit, but due to it's composition and it being unlined most people will see it as a spring and summer suit
