Girls' mixed-media sweatshirt dress

I recently purchased several J.Crew dresses and skirt for my granddaughter, she is 7 years old she is tall for her age, All the dresses and skirt I purchased was a size 8 all fit great, EXCEPT this dress runs very wide. Beautiful dress one of my granddaughter's favorite. I had to return unfortunately no size 7 available.

This is a really cute dress that my daughter loves. However, from a care standpoint, it has the same problem as another J. Crew sweatshirt dress she used to have, and I wish they’d fix it in their design. There is a small flap that hangs down from the top over the skirt, and when you wash the dress it always comes out wrinkled / folded up on one side and down on the other. You have to iron it so it’ll stay down and flat, which is a pain for a sweatshirt dress that should be easy care.
