Perfect fragrance to the represent J.Crew
May 19, 2016This is not woodsy. Or woody. It's actually WOOD. As in real wood, like a recently sawn log or slab of timber, dry sawdust on the floor all around… Surprisingly versatile, warm enough for winter, cool enough for summer, great for casual, but I also think it could be dressed up and could come off very elegant due to the extremely high quality. Projects pretty well, a friend of mine noticed it from a few feet away saying "man, you smell MANLY". My favorite woody-spicy of all time.

Great Masculine Scent
November 24, 2015I've always been a huge fan of DS & Durga so I took a chance and picked up Longshoreman. I instantly fell in love so I decided to take a chance on Homesteader's. I have to admit, my first impression wasn't a good one, as it was quite different than the other DS & Durga stuff I own. I immediately regretted my decision but decided to wear it for several days to give it a fair chance. I have to admit that after the initial break in period, I'm now obsessed with it. The harsh tones that really stood out before now sit in the background and I really began to notice the depth and other elements associated with Homesteader's. I definitely smell cedar, and a subtle almost piney scent that sits in there. It's a very masculine scent and I've been getting tons of compliments since I've started wearing this. Definitely pick this one up if you're looking for something different and want to get away from the popular "mall fragrances" that everyone wears.

Knockout scent
November 7, 2015I am not a big "cologne" guy, but when I read the description, I took a chance (a BIG chance ordering it online) and made the purchase. It did not disappoint. Very earthy, woodsy, masculine scent that is not overpowering if you spray sparingly (rubbing it between my two wrists is my tactic). I have worn it to work and have been complimented on the scent (I laugh about it wondering...what did I smell like BEFORE when I was just using soap and deodorant). The scent stays on all day but washes off quite easily with soap and water at the end of the day. Love this product. Highly recommended. I think it is going to wear nicely as we get into the colder weather.

Great from Start to Finish
June 3, 2014The box, the bottle, the fragrance - the perfect combination of quality and style. The smell is perfection - it reminds me of a foggy day on the coast and sitting by a warm fire. The cologne starts off strong but mellow to a very wearable volume. People have repeatedly complimented me on the fragrance, which is an added perk. It's such a great smell, I wish they would add candles or room spray to the offerings.

Very Masculine
June 1, 2014I just sampled this yesterday from a friend and I have to say that I immediately ordered it for myself. It really does smell like a box of freshly sharpened cedar pencils with a bit of sagebrush and spice. After about an hour, it mellows out to evoke a campfire on a beach even though that's not exactly what it smells like: Very masculine and intimate. Also, it's NOT one of those expensive colognes which smells of rubbing alcohol. I wouldn't be surprised to see this in an exclusive shop selling for twice the price. It really is that good.
