Nordic quarter-crew socks in wool blend

I should have listened to the only other review about the absolutely terrible smell that these socks have. It’s like a chemical smell mixed with moth balls. I’m not sure what caused it, but it does not wash out. In fact, I washed these socks with a regular load of laundry, in cold water, and ALL of my other clothes in the wash came out smelling like the socks! Even after two consecutive washes of the tainted clothes, the smell is still present. Incredibly disappointed that my clothes now carry this smell. My wardrobe is ruined. It’s unfortunate to say this, but this will most likely be my last purchase from J. Crew.

I received these and they have an extreme smell that falls somewhere between chemicals and mothballs. I thought washing would help, but there was no change after the wash. I’m bummed that I can’t return them since I got them as a final sale. My pair are unwearable.
