Ludlow Slim-fit blazer in cotton madras

The fabric is beautiful and the construction is top-notch. It’s described as slim-fit, and it is; I ordered my regular size and it fits nicely and looks great on. Yes, it’s too restrictive to play badminton in, but for sipping cocktails on the patio, it’s perfectly comfortable.

As many others stated, this is a gorgeous blazer of excellent quality in a lovely madras. Colors are true to photos. As recommended by other reviewers, I purchased larger than my regular size (36/38 slim to 40) and also cannot wear buttoned. I am a woman but own many men's "slim fit" blazers from various designers as I love the quality, details, fabrics and length of men's styles. Never encountered this issue. [I'm grateful a slim style is offered as not all men are wide - nor am I!] Still, it seems something is off with this cut? Everything is now oversized (with upsize) except the fit across the ribcage/back. I can only wear open. Still, it's pretty and unique.

I expected the blazer to be a little tight around the middle because I have a few pounds to lose this summer, but the sleeves are absurdly tight to the point where driving is uncomfortable even without buttoning it. I bought a 41-R and had my 5'10", thin brother who usually wears 40-R try it on, and even he couldn't raise his arms without the whole jacket riding up. Since it runs so small, I'd guess something like a 42-L might have worked better, and I'd love to try again because this is truly a beautiful blazer, but unfortunately an exchange doesn't seem to be available at the time, though I think it should be given how atypical the sizing appears to be.
