14 customer reviewsWhat customers are saying:
Customers really like this overcoat for its classic, polished look and heavyweight wool feel, saying it drapes well and looks sharp in person. The relaxed, oversized cut comes through consistently, with several customers noting it runs a bit big but still leaves plenty of room to layer comfortably. Quality and warmth get strong praise overall, and many describe it as a standout piece that feels worth the price.

Classic
February 19, 2026A classic coat. Definitely runs a bit big like others say. Small fit fine and plenty of room to layer.

Possibly the best J. Crew Item ever made.
February 11, 2026It's a lofty claim but the NY overcoat may be J. Crews best work and is easily my favorite purchase in recent memory of any item from J. Crew or any brand for that matter. This is a 10/10. The silhouette, weight and pure swag are top notch. The only draw back, and this no fault of the coat, is that it is a magnetic for dog hair..which sucks because I really loved that dog.

January 29, 2026[Employee of jcrew] Instant favorite piece. This coat has been sold out for quite some time but I was thankfully able to snag it recently when in store and have been in love with it since. So excited to wear it over before we officially transition out of colder weather.
