484 Slim-fit stretch jean in deep black

I have another pair of 484 jeans that I love. They're the first pair of J. Crew jeans I've owned so when there was a sale last August I bought another. Today I found a tear next to the pocket. My activities in these jeans have been very light, and I have never snagged them. I've never had a pair of jeans tear so easily. Since this is only my second pair of J. Crew jeans, I'm wondering about the quality. Maybe this particular fabric is defective, which is why my particular jeans-product number AP920-are no longer available. I reached out to J Crew to see how this could be addressed. I can't return them since they've been tailored. They offered to reimburse me the cost to repair them. I'm hesitant to spend more on these wondering if they'll just tear again somewhere else, and I'm hesitant to spend more money on J. Crew jeans at all, since they aren't cheap. Given the cost, I expect better quality.

Don’t know what corners jcrew is trying to cut. But you can clearly see a difference between these 484’s and ones from about 5yrs ago.

Sizing doesn't match the stated dimensions and is wildly off from pair to pair of the same stated size. Quality is extremely poor and thin, especially given the price. The fit is pretty good, but will also distort easily, and, keep in mind, the measurements don't match in the first place. If you must purchase these, make sure to try several pairs in person.

These jeans have performed very well. Thankfully they do not stretch out too much. I am an older woman but the amount of slimness is perfect, not too too slim. Back pockets are nice because some brands have half pockets for the look but are not able to hold any thing. Nice! I would buy again.

I purchased this pair for my boyfriend and he’s very pleased with the fit. They’re true to size and slimming. We also like that the material is thicker than other stores we’ve looked at. So far they’ve only gone through the wash once but the color has stayed and nothing stained within the same load. Overall we’re very pleased with the 484 slim line and will likely purchase more!

Have a pair of 484 from jcrew and knew to size down on this pair. Got a 29 instead of 30 and the pair had a large waist than my previous. I thought washing the pants would help but it did not and now I cannot return them
