What customers are saying:
Most customers appreciated the fabric’s soft, sturdy feel and the value when the shirt is on sale, noting that it offers a nice material upgrade compared to other oxford options. Several customers shared that the relaxed fit tends to run larger than expected, with recommendations to consider ordering a size down if you prefer a more standard, tailored look. While a few felt the premium pricing didn't fully match the overall uniqueness, many still found it a decent buy when discounted. Overall, customers suggest checking the fit details for the best experience and enjoying the quality of the material.

R-E-L-A-X(ed) Fit
March 21, 2023Should you buy this shirt? Yes. I bought both colors. How is quality? It's ok. Not worth the ticket. But in terms of value, certainly worth the investment when it's on sale. If you want a better quality oxford, buy Gitman (where the fit is more consistent). Is it heavyweight? No. It's definitely mid-weight, brushed cotton made in Bangladesh. How is the fit? Classic, Slim, or Giant? Well, the fit tag on the neck is literally labeled "Relaxed Fit". Not sure why they didn't include in the product details. For context, I normally wear Slim L and the Medium is more than comfortable. Chest and waist measure 22.5" across (45" around).

Very High Quality - Small Issue
November 28, 2022This Oxford is very very high quality that you can feel as well as see however, the strap behind the collar under the button is easily torn and mine came damaged. It also runs pretty large but mine looked perfect under a vest.

Very good, with a few caveats
September 23, 2022A few things to note with this shirt: As others have said, this is a relaxed fit shirt. Not sure why the description is leaving this out. What does that mean? That means that the L fits about like a XL. Not a bad thing, but just be aware of that when ordering. I sized down one size and I'm really happy with how it fits. I believe the fabric is from the Somelos mill in Portugal, hence the hefty price. While I like the fabric, I don't think it deserves the MSRP that it has. On sale, it's a decent buy and I'd recommend it if you value the fabric upgrade.

Very nice shirt, very LARGE
August 4, 2022I managed to snag this shirt at heavy discount. I love the material, the silhouette as well. It feels soft and sturdy. One problem: it’s gigantic. Arms, width, and length are all quite big. I think I can make it work untucked if I get it altered.

Do not recommend, fits huge
May 22, 2022I rarely write product reviews, but people need to be warned about this shirt. First off, this shirt is not "regular fit". It's actually relaxed fit, which means the torso and sleeves are huge, at least 2 sizes larger than normal. It's so deceptive too because in the listing picture Jcrew removed the label that says relaxed fit and in the description they call it regular fit. For jcrew to call this regular fit and remove the collar label from the picture is ultra deceptive marketing and the cherry on top, they mark this item as final sale so that you can't return it when you inevitably find out for yourself how comically large it fits. Second, as one of the other reviews already pointed out the fabric is the exact same as the other broken-in oxford shirts on here that routinely go on sale for sub $20. I honestly regret buying this shirt even at the +60% discount sale price. It's not even worth $20. Buyer beware.

Why can't JCrew use collar/sleeve sizing??
May 16, 2022My question is this--if JCrew has gone through all the trouble of sourcing cotton from Somelos, why can't they use precise sizes for this shirt like their other dress shirt?? Even though their dress shirt sizes are also not very consistent, this simple letter sizes are just rolling dices. Nothing wrong with the quality of the shirt, but it can be much more enjoyable if it actually fits.
