Short-sleeve neppy chambray popover

J. Crew's popover shirts won my heart years ago... And I was so glad to see them go away a couple years back. I love them so much I've even managed to thrift a couple! This shirt is a welcome return to the style for me, but there's a few things it's lacking. The cons? It runs narrower than the older models I have in the shoulders (especially the back panel) and has really high/small armholes -- However, the torso is roomy, so sizing up is not ideal. I don't love the curved hem compared to the old style's tiered flat hem, which to me completed the untucked popover "look." The pros? This hemp-blend chambray is awesome. It feels tough-as-nails and is quite rigid (contributing to the tightness in armholes and back), while still breathable and light enough for hot summer days. I have a feeling it will wear and soften with time. Also, the collar seems to have a slightly more old-school "roll"/longer points to the buttons, which is welcome (maybe just the rigid fabric).

Awesome shirt but the photos show a darker color than what arrived. Not a big issue just not expected.
