Wallace & Barnes naval workshirt in Indian madras

J.Crew I left you for a year because I had it with the sizing and quality control issues. I saw this shirt via my wife and said there is hope for J.Crew yet. You almost nailed it. The design was there, the materials are there but once again the craftsmanship and construction fail. Line up the plaid and if the yoke is supposed to be offset so be it but make it equal on both sides. And if you say triple stitch it had better be all three rows on some material not one of the rows just running off the hem. And speaking of chain stitch run off can you make them longer than an inch I mean that's supposed to be a bragging detail. Almost J.Crew, Almost... and made in India too that's what we want to see. So close. I wanted to keep them so bad. Don't quit, get the rant and make it better. I will buy this stuff. We will buy this stuff just do it right. Thank you for trying.

Love the styling and fit of this shirt. Unique and a nice change from some of my other casual shirt.

This is a high quality shirt with a unique design and beautiful Madras material. The instructions indicate hand-washing only but the material, while light and airy, is surprisingly substantial in weight. I purchased the oak colour and it is true to the online images and quite pleasing to the eye. The detailing is great and the pieces well-matched, including pockets and collar; someone took care in piecing it together. The contrast stitching and rear vent holes are a nice touch. My only quip is the odd sizing. I am 5'8", an athletic 163 lbs, and usually wear medium. I purchased this in the medium and while it fits well in the shoulders and chest, it is noticeably loose in the waist and slightly tight in the arms. In fact, the arms fit somewhat like a slim would. That said, overall it's a very nice shirt and I recommend it.

I love the texture and weight of the fabric. The feel is soft and the breathable weave keeps you cool.

No complaints other than there’s a lot of odd detailing around the shoulders that I hadn’t paid attention to in the photos. Also, the stitching is rather large, which made the shirt less appealing. Fabric and fit were very nice.

I bought and am keeping both shirts. The pink version is more of a purple color (which i actually like better). The olive version color is spot on, however, mine came with tan colored buttons, and not white as shown. Also, while it is shown in the photos, make sure you are aware that the fabric around the arms are separately stitched panels and the plaid patter does not line up. Again, looking at the photos, this is displayed. However, I was not aware of it until I recived them. Still like them, though. Fit and quality is good.
