Staple Shorts

J.Crew version of R R L Officer Chino Short
July 15, 2023These are very traditional chino shorts. Think 1950s & awesome. Button fly, heavier chino material, large leg hole, perfect 8” inseam. I’d say these run a little bit. I haven’t washed them yet, but I’m sure they’ll shrink a little bit. I wish I’d have bought more, but I’m happy with this pair. If you’re into that timeless classic J.Crew look from the 80s/90s…you’ve arrived.

Perfect material — wide leg opening
July 14, 2023OK. So I’ve been longing for 100% cotton shorts and the material on these are GREAT. (I truly miss the classic “Stanton” shorts Jcrew offered that were 100% cotton or linen.) Some caveats is the leg opening is flared out a little. But I think that’s the retro-vintage style Wallace and Barnes was going for. I personally don’t mind it, but can’t see where those with thinner legs would look awkward in them. However, nothing a tailor can’t fix, especially the price point and the material/quality you’re getting. I recommend. But if you have a belly, these are higher rise and may not fit you well. And if you have skinny legs they may look awkward on you if you’re not looking for the retro fit.
