awesome quality rollneck
January 29, 2019Great quality rollneck. the quality of the wool is nice, definitely warm, and not too itchy on my skin. do note that this style seems to run large by a size, i normally wear a medium and opted for a small on this and it fit well for me (38" chest). also note that it is a relaxed fit so it will be somewhat baggy, this is not the tight-fitting kind of rollneck. i purchased in the carbon (black) and forest (green) colors and was pleased with both.

So this is a J. Crew Rollneck -- I love it!
January 19, 2019While I'm well old enough to know, I had never heard of a J. Crew Rollneck sweater was until I purchased the heather green version of this during the sale. My wife immediately complimented me on it, explaining how it was a coveted item in the 80s and 90s, and remarking that she needs to buy the updated version. I wore it to work and found it very comfortable and appropriate even though it has a slightly relaxed look. The wool is quite soft and can be worn over a tee shirt with only very slight itch which disappears quickly. The material is quite thick and warm. The only negative comment I can make as this sweater is clearly one full size larger than indicated. Before purchasing I read the reviews and that sentiment is common. At 5'8" and athletic 162 lbs medium is my usual size. When ordering, I erred on the side of caution and picked up the small -- the fit is near perfect, even still a little loose over a tee shirt. With this caveat I highly recommend this sweater!

Beautiful casual sweater
January 18, 2019I gave this sweater in grey to my boyfriend for Christmas. He loves it and has purchased another in blue for himself. It is a lovely soft wool, roll neck and sleeves. The fit is loose, but the fabric is thick and has enough body to look pulled together, not at all shlumpy.

Miss the original.
January 9, 2019When I ordered these sweaters I was imagining the original roll neck with the rolled cuff. I am disappointed that this incarnation has standard ribbed cuffs. This takes away from the slouchy, casual look and feel of the original sweater. It’s as though the designer got two designs crossed. I’ll keep both because of the colors. I would never order this style again.

Great Sweater, bad fit
January 5, 2019I wished I had paid attention to the online reviews and ordered one size smaller. I usually wear Small and sometimes Medium. I thought slightly larger size will be perfect. But it was too large. Almost like two size bigger. It was a final sale item. Very disappointed.

Second One
January 5, 2019I bought one in navy last winter and a heather clay just now. Just make sure your neck is protected because the wool is slightly itchy, but otherwise these are great. I'm in between an L and an XL with J.Crew; whenever I see comments that an item runs large, I go with a size L and invariably it's correct. This one is no exception.
