Alden® for J.Crew penny loafers in suede

This is a very classy high quality pair of loafers. The deep brown color is captured accurately in the photograph, but what becomes apparent when evaluating the actual shoe is the superior quality of the suede and how well the coloring was applied. The stitching is perfect on my pair. For the benefit of those familiar with Alden, the pair I purchased was inspected at the Alden store in Washington, DC, and it was determined that this shoe is made on the Copley last (this information was not available in the product description or when I inquired). The consensus is that this last fits true to size. I measure between 12.5 and 13 with a D width, and size 13 in this shoe was a perfect fit for me. I would recommend this to someone looking for a pair of nice casual loafers. If you get them and want to take a few days to decide if they're right for you, make sure to only wear them on carpet - the soles scratch easily on contact with hard surfaces, and this may make them unreturnable.
