Calf hair barrette

I love the J Crew tapered tortoiseshell barrettes (made in France). I thought that this barrette would be the same size and hold the same amount of hair. But it holds substantially less hair. The clipping mechanism is about 1 cm smaller than the mechanism for the tortoiseshell barrette. The product info gives no measurements at all, and I bought based on the fact it looked big enough, but it is not. Please give your customers measurements for your products. I also do not know where this product was made, but it does not have any marking that shows country of origin. The clip mechanism seems slightly flimsy and certainly less study than the made in France tortoiseshell barrette's mechanism. The calf hair is very cute and unique, and if you are OK with the smaller "holding capacity" it may still be a worthwhile purchase.

I was so excited to wear my new barrette today, until I tried to put it in my hair and the clasp fell apart. I was able to stick it back together but then the clasp wouldn't clip and stay closed- even without any hair in it. Very disappointed in the quality of this.

Love this item. I have very fine hair so clips usually slowly fall off. The clip mechanism on this barrette keeps my hair in place till I take it out. Hard to find clips that actually stay in my hair, this one does. Happy to have it.
