Nice and soft leather
January 24, 2025I received my black leather jacket yesterday January 22/2025 and it is nothing like the prior reviewers. This is an amazing jacket. The jacket is soft and has no smell that was mentioned. The fit is perfect too. I ordered a size 14 and it is a great fit.

Underwhelming construction and quality
January 24, 2025I agree with the other reviews, the smell is strong. I kept it outside of the closet for a couple of days hoping that would help but nothing has changed. My biggest complaint beyond the smell it is actually the construction of the jacket and quality of the leather. The leather between the shoulders and neck is stretched out forming a horrible wrinkle in both sides. As if there is too much fabric, or it was stored poorly for a long time. I tried to reshape it with no luck. It’s even more noticeable when you have it on. For the retail price I’m shocked with the quality overall. I have the “Collection limited-edition blazer-jacket in distressed leather” from last year and it’s shocking seeing the blazers next to each other. The old one is in perfect condition (even when it has been worn and hung in the closet for over a year now). I don’t think J.Crew quality is declining, but it’s always a hit or miss

Great fit but awful smell that hasn’t gone away
October 7, 2024The cutest jacket but the absolute worst smell!! I really wanted to keep this, I’m loving all the new clothes at j crew, but I have hung it out for 3 weeks and my closet smells terrible now. If I thought I could get the smell out, I would keep it!

A miss for me
October 7, 2024I tried this in a couple sizes (8 and 10) and couldn't make the fit work. I found it too wide in the shoulders and it wasn't as relaxed in the body as I was expecting based on the model photo and the name of the blazer. Also, both jackets had a strong smell. I may have tried keeping the 10 if it wasn't for the smell. I didn't try airing it out to see if the smell would dissipate. Others with a different body type than me or not sensitive to smells may like this as a leather blazer is a versatile piece. For reference I am an 8-10 on top and a 14 on bottom.
