Fits slightly big based on
20 customer reviewsWhat customers are saying:
Customers really love the classic, military-inspired look of this coat, especially the toggle details, hood, rich colors, and polished, elevated feel. The overall quality and warmth get strong praise, with many customers describing it as beautifully made, cozy, and a great cold-weather layer. Fit-wise, it tends to run roomy and a bit oversized, so some customers sized down, while others preferred their usual size for layering; a few petite customers suggested checking sleeve and length. Overall, it comes across as a stylish, standout coat that feels worth the splurge, especially on sale.

Exquisite Coat and Craftmanship
March 16, 2025Absolutely Beautiful - I’ve splurged on several J Crew coats even though I live in Houston Texas. So it was hard to convince myself that this one was worth the investment. However, I’ve always loved toggle style coats, navy is my favorite wardrobe color and this coat just spoke to me. I stalked it until it was on sale and I must say - it was worth every penny. Style, fit, warmth (was able to wear it during our 3 weeks of winter), craftsmanship, detail, fabrics - wool, lining, trim, toggles, fasteners, even the interior tags was extraordinary. J Crew whomever styled this coat deserves a huge BONUS this year.

Collection should be higher quality
January 15, 2025The coat itself is very beautiful, but the quality was lacking. The wool is extremely thin, loosely woven, and comprised short fibers, rather than long. It would not have been anywhere near warm enough for winter. I returned it.
